A tragic incident has taken place at Punjab Training School in Farooqabad, where head constable Tahir killed the chief security officer of police training school, inspector Muhammad Afzal, before taking his own life.
According to reports, the incident occurred at 7 a.m. Friday morning and allegedly emanated from a complaint over neglect in the performance of official duties.
As per local media reports, the whole incident began when Inspector Afzal questioned Tahir regarding his absence from duty for a considerable period. In response, Tahir opened fire at Inspector Afzal using his police rifle and later shot himself.
Senior policemen immediately arrived at the scene, examining all angles of the tragedy in minute detail.
Local media, quoting sources within the Police Training School, revealed that higher pressures and strict working conditions may have impacted the morale of personnel, which led to such a tragic incident.
