ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has constituted a three-member bench on the petition of PTI against the decision of the Lahore High Court regarding the Punjab Chief Minister.
According to details, PTI lawyers Faisal Chaudhry and Imtiaz Siddiqui have filed a petition in the Supreme Court. The party has requested the Supreme Court to grant the appeal in which it is said that the election of the Punjab Chief Minister should stay till the decision of the petition.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court has constituted a three-member bench on the appeal of PTI, which will be headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
A three-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail also hear the appeal at 1.30 pm. It may be recalled that the Lahore High Court yesterday approved the petitions of PTI against the election of Punjab CM Hamza Shahbaz and ordered to recount of the votes of the deviant members for the election of the chief minister.
Furthermore, a meeting of the Punjab Assembly has been convened at 4 pm today on the orders of the Lahore High Court.
