LAHORE: The Punjab Cabinet has denied extending the bail of former premier Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds.
The provincial ministers had disagreed extending Nawaz Sharif’s bail as he failed to submit the medical reports he was asked to present earlier.
According to the cabinet, the board had not received any satisfactory reply from Nawaz Sharif despite since December 2019.
The committee also pointed out Nawaz Sharif has not been admitted to any hospital in London since he had left Pakistan.
Nawaz Sharif who is currently staying in London on medical grounds since November last year. He was granted bail by the Lahore High Court for 14 days.
Earlier on 8th February, Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports were rejected by the medical board as the reports were insufficient.
Moreover, earlier today, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also demanded to probe why former premier Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports were not being sent from the United Kingdom.
He demanded an inquiry against Nawaz Sharif related to his medical reports.
Chaudhry questioned why Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports were not being sent from the UK where he was getting treatment. It seemed that there was a contract between the medical reports of Lahore and London, he added.
The federal minister further said that that the Punjab government should probe the health department regarding Nawaz’s medical reports.
