LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved the relaxation of up to 15 years in the upper age limit for government jobs in the province.
It should be mentioned here that the earlier age limit relaxation for government jobs was 10 years in Punjab. According to a notification issued from the chief minister’s house on Tuesday, the Punjab government has permitted relaxation up to 15 years in the upper age limit to all the applicants applying for the vacancies in government departments of the province.
Earlier, the Punjab government had decided to regularize the services of more than 50,000 contractual and work-charged employees. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had directed the officials concerned to regularize the contractual employees working in different ministries and divisions in the province.
The chief minister had directed the authorities concerned to submit a summary in this regard after collecting data from all the provincial departments.
On July 28, 2020, the Sindh government had increased the upper age limit by 15 years for candidates eying a seat in the different government departments.
According to the official notification, applicants aged 43 or less can now apply for vacancies in all departments of Sindh. The age relaxation will be applicable to all job postings from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022.
