An Appellat Tribunal on Sunday dismissed appeals of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar and social activist Sanam Javed against the rejection of their nomination papers.
Sanam was ruled ineligible by the tribunal, which was presided over by Justice Tariq Nadeem. The objections raised by the RO on his nomination papers to run for two National Assembly seats and one provincial assembly seat (NA-120, NA-119, and PP-150) were upheld.
Additionally, the tribunal denied Hammad Azhar’s appeal against her documents being rejected.
In ruling on the issue, Justice Nadeem supported the RO’s decision to reject the nomination papers.
It is worth mentioning that Sanam submitted her paperwork to run against PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz when she was incarcerated.
