ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former state minister Imtiaz Safdar Waraich has reported decided to rejoin Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The decision comes as the PTI government is gearing up for the no-confidence motion, which the Opposition has submitted to the National Assembly in a bid to oust the prime minister.
According to reports, Warraich will make a formal announcement alongside PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari soon. Sources also suggested four other PTI members from Punjab may join the PPP. The veteran politicians remained a senior member of the PPP.
On June 16, 2017, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich formally announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a press conference at Bani Gala. PTI Chairman Imran Khan had welcomed the stalwart, saying his inclusion will strengthen PTI in Gujranwala division.
Last week, former special assistant Nadeem Afzal Chan formally announced to rejoin PPP after quitting the PPP. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Aitzaz Ahsan and others called on the Nadeem Afzal Chan at his residence.
Addressing the press conference alongside the PPP leaders, Chan thanked the party leadership for giving him respect and he should be forgiven for mistakes of the past. He said he has always struggled for the rights of the farmers.
