KARACHI: Barrister Ali Saif, information adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would invite Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to address its protest at D-Chowk.
Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Pakistan for the coming SCO summit in Islamabad.
He said this while speaking on Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’ on Friday. He said the PTI had the right to protest under the constitution.
Saif said India claimed to be the biggest democracy and the federal government was trying to show India that protests were not allowed in Pakistan.
He added that the PTI would invite the Indian foreign minister to attend its protest and address it so that he could see how strong democracy was in Pakistan and how people were free to exercise their right to protest.
PTI chairman clarified the party policy on Barrister Saif Khan’s statement and maintained no foreigner, including the Indian foreign minister was invited to participate in the protest and termed Barrister statement was taken out of context.
PTI chairman said that PTI’s policy regarding India has never changed in the 27 years of struggle.
“Pakistan’s 70 year policy from India is the backbone of PTI’s policy,” he reiterated. “PTI’s struggle is internal. Jaishankar has nothing to do with PTI struggle,” Gohar Khan said.
