ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, who did not attend the National Assembly sessions during the sit-in in protest against the alleged rigging in election 2013, received salaries.
On a social media website Twitter, Maryam Nawaz while criticizing PTI said that PML-N would not abuse assembly the whole day and then come and sit in the same assembly and also receive salaries and allowances for the absence of the whole year.
Maryam Nawaz in her sarcastic tweet said “Have patience, will tell you what resignations are”. “Our resignations would not be like ‘honest’ and we would not disappear if called by speaker,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif (@MaryamNSharif) February 2, 2021
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz had once again ruled out dialogue with the Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government by refuting speculation of internal rifts within the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Addressing a press conference, she said that the government’s wish to see the Opposition’s alliance fall victim to internal rifts would yield nothing.
The PML-N leader further said that the PDM would not enter into any kind of negotiations with the government amid calls for dialogue.
“Even if there is a disagreement on any issue within the PDM, it is resolved in an amicable approach,” Maryam said. She urged Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to present his suggestion on bringing about an in-house change with other members of the PDM.
