KARACHI: The convoy of the Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Shaikh was reportedly attacked in Nawabshah.
The assailants opened fire on Haleem Adil Shaikh’s convoy and hurled stones on the vehicles as it was passing the Zardari House in Nawabshah. However, the opposition leader remained unhurt in the incident.
While speaking to media, Sheikh said the attackers pelted stones and fired gunshots on his convoy which was on its way to the residence of the local PTI leader Inayat Rind.
He alleged that the men belonging to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) perpetrated the cowardly attack. He said that Asad Zardari, Imran Zardari, Babu Domki and others were involved in the firing incident.
The opposition leader complained that the SSP Benazirabad did not attend his call through which he wanted to register a complaint.
“The PPP could not frighten me through such cowardly attacks,” he said. “I will keep exposing the corruption of the PPP’s Sindh government,” he vowed. The attackers also chanted slogans against Sheikh and his party. An FIR of the incident has not been lodged so far.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail condemned the attack on Haleem Adil Shaikh’s convoy in Nawabshah.
Imran Ismail said that the provincial government will be responsible if something happens to Haleem Adil Shaikh and urged authorities to immediately arrest the perpetrators.
He termed the incident an attempt to destroy the peace situation in the province and a bid to pressurise the political opponents by using such tactics.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill said that PPP was involved in carrying out attacks on PTI leaders in Sindh. He strongly condemned the attack on Sheikh.
