PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stated on Tuesday that the party’s founder has authorized the submission of written demands to the government, as reported by national media.
“We will present our demands to the government in writing, as instructed by the founder,” Barrister Gohar said outside Adiala Jail following a visit to the PTI founder, according to a report by ARY News on Wednesday.
The PTI, the main opposition party in Parliament, and the government have been engaged in political talks to foster a positive political atmosphere. However, there has been concern that the discussions were not progressing as expected, with statements from both sides after the second round of talks.
A delay in granting permission for PTI leaders to meet with their party leader at Adiala Jail further contributed to this perception. Barrister Gohar Ali emphasized that the founder has called for another meeting. “The talks cannot move forward without allowing this visit,” he stated.
“We are not in talks for a deal, but for the benefit of the nation and the country,” the PTI leader added. Barrister Gohar also refuted media claims about a conversation with Aleema Khan regarding a house arrest offer for the PTI founder.
He clarified that neither Mohsin Naqvi nor anyone else had discussed the founder’s release, and there had been no talks regarding relocating him.
