Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked thousands of mobile phone numbers used for fraudulent activities.
According to PTA officials, operations against individuals deceiving mobile phone users are ongoing to safeguard consumers.
In the past year alone, 5,294 mobile numbers involved in fraudulent activities have been blocked, officials reported.
Additionally, 4,507 IMEI numbers linked to fraud have also been blocked, while 113 identity cards of individuals engaged in fraudulent activities were blocked during the last fiscal year.
PTA remains committed to cracking down on such illegal practices to protect mobile users across the country.
