The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) maintained its upward momentum on Thursday, with the KSE-100 Index rising by 836.47 points, a gain of 0.90%, to close at 94,191.89 points, up from 93,355.43 points on the previous trading day.
According to media reports, the day saw a total of 1,084,344,207 shares traded, compared to 807,067,924 shares in the prior session, with the value of shares amounting to Rs 32.680 billion, up from Rs 31.688 billion.
Traders showed a positive interest in the Pakistan Stock Exchange as a total of 465 companies traded their shares, with 262 recording gains, 147 seeing losses, and 56 remaining unchanged.
The top three trading companies included WorldCall Telecom, with 177,393,273 shares at Rs 1.38 per share, Hascol Petroleum, with 59,224,094 shares at Rs 8.21 per share, and Treet Corporation Limited, with 47,940,702 shares at Rs 15.81 per share.
APP reported that Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited led in gains with a Rs 299.00 increase, closing at Rs 7,900.00 per share, followed by Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIA) which rose by Rs 68.74 to reach Rs 899.98 per share.
