PSX crosses historic 154,000 mark as rally continues

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday continued its bullish run as the benchmark KSE-100 index gained over 1600 points.

At close, the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 1,611.47 points, or 1.06%, to settle at a record high of 154,277.19.

Strong buying interest was seen across key sectors including cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies (OMCs), power generation, and refineries.

Major index contributors such as Attock Refinery (ARL), Hub Power Company (HUBCO), Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC), Pakistan Oilfields (POL), Pakistan Petroleum (PPL), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Habib Bank (HBL), MCB Bank, Meezan Bank (MEBL), and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) closed in the green.

This performance followed Thursday’s rally, where the index climbed 463.85 points (0.3%) to settle at the previous record of 152,665.72.

Analysts remain optimistic about the market’s trajectory, citing strong fundamentals, projected corporate earnings growth of 8-10%, and an attractive average dividend yield of around 8%.
