Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) stayed bearish for the second consecutive day on Tuesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index dropped -533.73 points to 113,568.50 against the 114,102.23 points in the previous session.
In the onset the stock market witnessed a bullish trend and gained over 1000 points but later the selling pressure emerged due to uncertain situation in the region amid escalation tensions between Pakistan and India.
At the end of the session, the stock market closed in red with a negative change of -0.47%. The high of the market during the session was 115,093.1,0 and the low was 113,418.52.
A total of 165,216,410 shares were traded during the day as compared to 399,538,878 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 15,180 billion against Rs 19.852 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 451 companies transacted their shares in the stock market,187 of them recorded gains and 217 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 47 companies remained unchanged.
