ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that providing children a safe environment was the topmost priority of the government.
The prime minister said that during a meeting which he held with the secretary social welfare of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Idrees Mohammad and Chairperson Child Protection Bureau of Punjab Sara Ahmed.

The meeting was held at Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad. During the meeting, the detailed steps were discussed to address the rights of children.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said that the nation’s sustainable development was possible through investment and better development of children.
Greater attention should be paid to the protection and well-being of children with disabilities and deprived children, he added.
He further said that homeless children were the responsibility of the state. All possible measures would be taken to protect children from abuse and provide a safe environment, he added.
