Prime Video India has unveiled the teaser for its upcoming action movie Subedaar, featuring veteran actor Anil Kapoor in the lead role. The teaser release coincided with Kapoor’s birthday, marking the announcement on Instagram.
According to a report by Indian Express on Tuesday, Anil Kapoor stars as a retired soldier who must confront new threats in his civilian life while dealing with a strained relationship with his daughter, portrayed by Radhika Madan.
The official synopsis reads: “The man who once fought for his nation must now fight enemies within to protect his home and family.” Although the theme of a retired soldier battling personal and societal challenges is familiar, Subedaar promises a fresh take on the narrative.
In the teaser, Kapoor’s character, referred to as ‘Chacha’ by a mob, is seen preparing for a confrontation. As threats loom and intruders approach his home, he calmly readies his gun, signaling a fierce resistance. Prime Video shared a clip on Instagram with the caption, “A special day calls for a special announcement. #Subedaar, new movie coming soon.”
Directed by Suresh Triveni, who co-wrote the film with Prajwal Chandrashekhar, Subedaar showcases Triveni’s storytelling prowess, previously seen in critically acclaimed films like Jalsa and Tumhari Sulu. Anil Kapoor was last seen in Fighter with Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan and played a pivotal role in Animal. His last leading roles were in Thar and AK vs AK. Fans are eagerly awaiting Kapoor’s return as the central character in this intense action drama.
