President Asif Ali Zardari awarded the prestigious Nishan-e-Pakistan to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, recognizing his unwavering support for Islamic causes and his long-standing friendship with Pakistan.
The top civilian honor was presented during a special ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadar, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, military chiefs, diplomats, and senior government officials.
During the event, it was highlighted that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is an admirer of Allama Iqbal, acknowledging that the poet-philosopher’s works have been a significant source of inspiration for him.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has consistently championed humanitarian causes and upheld Islamic values throughout his political career.
Known for his leadership in promoting social justice, he has been a staunch advocate for addressing global issues facing the Islamic world, particularly in supporting self-determination movements and speaking out against oppression.

In honor of the visiting dignitary, President Zardari also hosted a state dinner for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his delegation.
