SUKKUR: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Monday has called on delegations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sukkur and Larkana divisions at Circuit House here.
Addressing the delegations, President said the federal government under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s leadership has eradicated corruption at a high level and the country has got back on the path to recovery.
Referring to the issues of farmers, President Alvi reaffirmed that the government would take all-out measures to facilitate farmers as the development of the agriculture sector was among the top priorities of PTI.
“The PTI-led federal government has handed over Rs12,000 to 14.9 million people under Ehsaas Programme which is a big achievement,” he added.
While lauding the performance of the government for successfully tackling the coronavirus pandemic, he said that initially there was a lot of fear-mongering that the people will die on the street.
“It made us proud when Japan and the Philippines said they can learn from Pakistan in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic,” he said, adding that the government NCOC, Ulema, paramedical staff and especially Prime Minister Imran Khan deserve all the praise.
Meanwhile, the delegations while lauding the President of Pakistan’s keen interest in the promotion of the agriculture sector, apprised him of the common man’s issues, COVID-19 situation and efforts of the government regarding the improvement of the economy.
The delegation briefed the President on issues pertaining to their respective constituencies. In this regard, the president directed Governor Sindh Imran Ismail to devise a mechanism in coordination with the provincial government to resolve the problems faced by the people.
