KARACHI; The Pakistan Railways (PR) has announced the resumption of Mehran Express, which will transport commuters between the southern port city and Mirpurkhas in Sindh.
According to details, the Mehran Express will leave Karachi at 3:55pm and reach Mirpurkhas at 8:30pm. On the return trip, it will depart at 5am and arrive in the port city at 9:30pm.
Mehran Express will reach Mirpurkhas from Karachi in four-and-a-half hours, covering around 250 kilometres, having eight stops in its route at Cantt Station, Drigh Road Railway Station, Landhi, Jungshahi, Kotri, Hyderabad, Tando Jam and Tando Allahyar.
The resumed train service comprises nine economy class coaches and a brake van, having a cumulative passenger capacity of 734 people. The spokesperson said that the train used to run on the same route before the suspension of railway operations back in March 2020 due to COVID-19.
