PPP never dragged religion in politics: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan has said that the PPP was the only political party that never dragged religion in politics.

Aitzaz Ahsan said that the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto had clarified it to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman during the All Parties Conference that his party never used religion in politics.

“I am affiliated with People’s Party and didn’t quit it,” Ahsan said. “I had a more important political role during the Senate tenure,” PPP leader said, adding “Asif Zardari had offered me a (Senate) seat from Sindh,” Aitzaz Ahsan said.

Aitzaz Ahsan while criticising the opposition party said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N could not get involved in politics.

He further said that the Sharif family were making statements but now all of them have become silent and they will remain so.
