ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is holding a ‘Tractor March’ on Monday against the federal government to express solidarity with farmers over the rising prices of agricultural products.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will lead the Tractor March of farmers in Hyderabad. The party processions will reach to Fateh Chowk where Bilawal will address the participants of the protests. PPP MPAs and MNAs leading tractor marches from various districts have reached Hyderabad to attend the party rally.
In Karachi, a rally of farmers started its march from Malir to Mazar-e-Quaid this morning. Several PPP leaders and workers including Agha Rafiullah, Sajid Jokhio, Salman Murad and others attended the rally.
PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah will lead the tractor-trolley march in Sukkur to express solidarity with farmers. Shah will lead the rally and reach Piala Hotel in Sukkur.
PPP central Punjab president Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said this march would prove to be a turning point and ensure protection of the rights of farmers. He said the march would culminate into the PPP’s long march on February 27.
He said the PPP’s protest would give new tidings to the people whose lives had been made miserable by the Imran Khan government. Ashraf led the first phase of the tractor-trolley march from Okara on Friday. PPP is holding a ‘tractor march’ in a protest across the country to support to the farmers who are suffering from the government’s agricultural policies.
