The by-election battle in the PP-206 constituency of Khanewal will be held tomorrow for which the time of the election campaign is over. Polling preparations are underway while the house of a PPP candidate has been attacked during the political turmoil.
According to details, Nishat Ahmed of PML-N had won the Punjab Assembly constituency PP-206 in Khanewal in 2018 by getting 51,353 votes. During the election campaign, PTI candidate Noorin Nishat Daha’s weight was heavy.
In comparison to PML-N, PTI candidate Rana Muhammad Saleem came second with 47,807 votes while PPP and TLP candidates came second and third respectively in the 2018 general elections.
Polling in constituency PP-206 will be held on December 16. Candidates from 13 political parties including PTI, PML-N, PPP, and TLP have entered the fray. The Punjab Assembly seat was vacated on the death of PML-N member Nishat Ahmed.
Constituency PP-206 Khanewal is in the throes of political turmoil. Meanwhile, the house of PPP candidate Syed Wasiq was attacked and a case has been registered against the PML-N leaders. In the text of the case, 50 unidentified persons including PML-N leader Ata Tarar were named as accused.
