PESHAWAR: After a “mysterious” explosion in the Kabal neighbourhood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s picturesque Swat valley, a police official recovered Rs2.5 million from the ruins of the Counter-Terrorism Department’s (CTD) office.
On April 24, a huge explosion rocked the CTD building reducing it to rubble. The blast killed at least 12 people and injured 53 others, mostly policemen.
Setting a new example of honesty, SHO CTD Police Station Kabal Ikramullah handed over the money to the authorities.
“The debris was removed from the scene and a packet full of money was found,” SHO Ikramullah was quoted as saying in Express Tribune.
“When I picked it up, it had money in it. In 2022, there was money as evidence from a case, which was the property of the police department,” he added.
The SHO furthered that he is proud to be a part of the police force and lives well on the salary that he receives from the department.
Lauding the honesting of SHO Ikramullah, KP Inspector General Police (IGP) Akhtar Hayat Gandapur announced an award for him, saying that his honesty has made K-P Police proud.
