KARACHI: Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation and arrested a suspect carrying narcotics in a rickshaw.
Upon directives of SSP City District Sameer, Jackson Police SHO Malik Adil formed a team along with Subinspector Raja Intizar. During snap checking, police stopped a rickshaw on suspicion and conducted a search during 12kg cannabis were recovered.
The suspect named Usman Ali s/o Shah Faisal was arrested. The rickshaw was confiscated while the suspect has been shifted to a police station. According to Subinspector Raja Intizar, the suspect was a habitual criminal who was linked with the drug mafia. He said the police is interrogating the suspect to know his criminal activities.
In another incident, a youth died after being struck by a moving train in Steel Town area in Bin Qasim. Rescue officials said that the 18-year-old was identified as Ahsanullah s/o Iqbal Umar. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by ambulance for post-mortem.
In Lyari, a woman died after drowning in a water tank. She was identified as Sakina w/o Sharif Umar, aged 50, and was a resident of Khada Market. Her body was shifted to Civil Hospital for legal procedures.
