ISLAMABAD: The federal police officials have recovered a girl, who was lured to Islamabad on the pretext of being given employment, besides arresting four accused, according to a spokesperson on Saturday.
According to details, the girl, named Maria, was rescued by Islamabad Karnol Police Station, following a tip-off. “The girl belongs to a poor family and was lured to Islamabad on the pretext of being given a job,” said the spokesperson.
The police with the help of CCTV camera footage arrested four accused and conducted a raid at a house and recovered the girl. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under several provisions of Criminal Act 2020.
Earlier in October 2020, a woman was allegedly gang-raped after being lured to a fake job interview near the Rawal area of Rawalpindi. According to details, the accused Waqar Azeem lured the victim woman, Misbah Batool, to the hotel near Bahria Town Gate No. 7 by promising her a job.
“Later, Waqar along with his two friends gang-raped me on gunpoint,” she claimed. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against three accused, however, the main accused was arrested.
