KARACHI: 3 Shikarpur police officers and 4 inter-provincial smugglers have been arrested on the charge of smuggling modern weapons to raw material robbers.
According to the report of the ARY news, Jacobabad police arrested 3 police officers and 4 smugglers from Shikarpur while acting on secret information about arms smuggling from Balochistan to Sindh.
According to the report, modern weapons were being smuggled from the police mobile to the crude bandits. Among the weapons recovered from the police mobile are G3 and SMG, along with around 2500 rounds.
In the above report, it has been revealed with reference to police sources that the police van involved in delivering the modern weapons to the raw material bandits was given to the provincial adviser for security. IG Sindh says that further investigation is going on.
With reference to the sources, the report further revealed that the double cabin police mobile is being used by the Sindh cabinet advisor Babil Bhiyo. Jacobabad police recovered weapons from a double cabin and a police mobile.
Police say that 2,350 light machine guns and Kalashnikov bullets were recovered from the mobile and double cabin. 6 magazines of light machine gun, 17 magazines of G3 rifle are also included in recovered weapons.
Officials say that among the arrested police officers are ASI Imtiaz Bhivu, Sanaullah, and Baqaullah Anand. Meanwhile, the notorious smuggler Akhtar Lashari, wanted in 4 cases, was also arrested while the arrested officials were working for the Shikarpur police.
