PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have arrested a transgender individual for abducting a girl under the pretext of marriage in the city of Peshawar.
As per details, the suspect, named Iftikhar, had befriended a madrasa student on social media and persuaded her to come to his home with a promise of marriage, Daily Pakistan reported on Thursday.
According to police, the Transgender person, who is a nurse by profession, kidnapped the girl in the month of October. The police rescued the girl after receiving the complaint. Following the recording of her statement, she was sent to the religious seminary and an investigation against the suspect has been initiated.
Meanwhile, the body of a student, who went missing four days ago, was found in the Tilli Syedan area of Torghar district last week.
Mohammad Kamran, ninth grade student, was last seen when he was leaving school. His dead body was recovered from an isolated place near the residence and was shifted to Tehsil Hospital Oghi, where doctors performed medico-legal formalities and handed over the body to his family.
Preliminary investigation reveals that Kamran, the son of a police officer, was strangled to death as a string has been found near the body.
