The police claimed to have arrested a security guard of the cantonment station over charges of rape ad murdering a 12-year-old girl three days ago, whose body was found in a trash heap in the Saddar area of Karachi, specifically in the Lucky Star locality.
The girl, identified as Ganga daughter of Hari Chand, belonged to the Hindu Bagri community. The investigation revealed that the girl was murdered after being subjected to sexual assault.
According to SHO Frere Irfan, the police spoke with the girl’s family, who stated that Ganga had left her home at 10 pm to buy bread from the cantonment station, accompanied by a friend. Ganga sent her friend back home and said she would follow, but her body was later found within the limits of the Saddar police station.
The post-mortem confirmed sexual assault, and the police arrested the suspect while investigating further. The police claim that the suspect, along with two other security guards, committed the assault. The suspect confessed to killing the girl out of fear of being recognized. The two accomplices are still at large.”
