ISLAMABAD: The party position of the National Assembly has been released in which the Muslim League (N) has been declared the largest party in the federation with 107 seats.
According to the details, the Election Commission, while releasing the party position of the National Assembly so far, declared the PML-N as the largest party in the House after the distribution of seats for women and minorities. 75 candidates of PML-N have won general seats.
So far, 9 independent candidates have become a part of the Muslim League (N), with which PML-N has managed to get 84 seats, from which 4 seats of minorities and 20 seats of women have been declared successful in 108 seats in the National Assembly.
54 candidates of the PPP won the general seats and reached the National Assembly, but no independent candidate joined the People’s Party. With 2 seats for minorities and 12 seats for women, the total number of seats of the People’s Party has increased to 68.
The Election Commission says that 99 independent candidates won the National Assembly election, out of which 81 became part of the Sunni Unity Council. So far 8 independent candidates have not decided to join any party. The support of 169 members is necessary to form the government.
On the other hand, MQM has emerged as the main party with 22 representatives in the National Assembly after securing 1 minority seat and 4 women seats. 17 candidates of MQM (Pakistan) were successful in general seats.
