ISLAMABAD: The PML-N has convened an important meeting to discuss plans related to the anti-government long march on Sunday (today).
The meeting will be held at PML-N’s Fazal Chaudhry’s residence in Islamabad and will be attended by several senior PML-N leaders. The meeting will review the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan while Opposition leaders are also expected to formulate a plan-of-action on proposals for the long march.
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced a long march in Islamabad on March 26. PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had clarified that the Opposition’s leaders and workers will not arrive in Islamabad for a short stay but will sit there and protest against the government till their demands are not met.
A day ago, the PDM rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s victory after the motion for a vote of confidence was successfully passed in National Assembly.
Speaking to the media, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said they saying they have now “exposed the puppet government” whose days are now numbered.
Maryam said that PM Imran Khan’s days are numbered and he is trying to save his rule with whatever means possible. “The vote of confidence is false,” she said, and alleged that the vote was secured at “gunpoint”. She said the parliament lodges had turned into a “bunker” ahead of the vote Maryam added that the government has been defeated in the people’s court and it should accept that.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that Yousuf Raza Gilani’s victory in one Senate seat has “exposed the puppet system” and they have proved that the prime minister has lost the majority by losing one senate seat.
He claimed that the president has also accepted that the government does not enjoy the majority’s support in the House. He said the PDM will now decide for how long the prime minister and Speaker will remain on their seats.
