LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has accused Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar of having a hand in the criminal conspiracy cases filed against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to details, PML-N’s lawmaker in Punjab Uzma Bukhari the case against Nawaz had been registered at the behest of Governor Punjab. “The complainant, Badar Rasheed, has been seen in photos alongside Chaudhry Sarwar, Sheikh Rashid and Ijaz Chaudhry,” she added.
Uzma Bukhari further said that the man fought the elections on a PTI ticket and is a union council chairman. “Badar Rasheed is also a member of the labour wing,” he added.
“Such clauses included in the case are ones that cannot be added in by a police officer without express approval by the government,” She added. Bukhari also said that the complainant has a criminal record and almost five cases have been registered against him.
She claimed that Fawad Chaudhry was shedding crocodile tears to claim that Prime Minister Imran Khan had no knowledge about the FIR.“Imran Khan, if you do not know about the powers of the executive, then why are you in the Prime Minister’s House?” asked Bukhari.
According to police, Badar Rasheed, the man behind the sedition case, has a criminal record — including an attempted murder charge. Rasheed has cases of attempted murder, illegal weapons and interference in government matters lodged against him.
The attempted murder case has been registered in the Shahdra Police Station, the same police station where the sedition case was registered. The police also confirmed that Rasheed has also been arrested in some cases.
Meanwhile, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar has denied involvement in the registration of a treason case Nawaz Sharif. Chaudhry Sarwar said that he has never called anyone a traitor in his life and added that he has no connection with Badar Rasheed.
