ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the federal cabinet meeting today to discuss a 7-point agenda via video conference.
The prime minister has summoned a meeting at the Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad wherein the cabinet is likely to ratify the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee.
During the meeting, the cabinet will be briefed on the current situation of COVID-19 in the country and the strategy for dealing with the coronavirus epidemic during Ramzan will be reviewed.
The cabinet will analyze the measures related to the provision of food items during Ramzan. It will also review the economic and political situation in the country during the meeting.
The cabinet during the meeting will reconstitute the Pakistan Arab Refinery (PARCO) board of directors and approve grants for journalists infected with the coronavirus. The cabinet will ratify the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee.
The meeting will also approve the nomination for vacancies of directors of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDCL) and the appointment of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Member Finance.
During the last meeting, the federal cabinet had approved extension in the countrywide lockdown for two more weeks in order to stop the spread of coronavirus cases.
