ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside over a meeting of the federal cabinet on the political and economic situation of the country today during which important issues will be discussed.
According to details, a meeting of the federal cabinet will be held today under the chairmanship of the prime minister. The cabinet will review the political, economic, and financial situation in the country, while the issue of challenging the ordinance by the opposition regarding the open ballot senate elections will also be considered.
During the meeting, the cabinet will review the opposition’s protest movement, including the PDM’s long march. The cabinet will discuss other important issues, including arrangements for Senate elections and liaison with allies.
The federal cabinet meeting will approve the appointment of the chairman of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The Chairman Task Force IT and Telecom will give a briefing to the cabinet. Briefings will be given on vacant posts of CEOs and other heads in government agencies.

A briefing on the metro bus project in the city of power and the appointment of an administrator in the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad will be approved. Mutual assistance in legal matters with different countries will be considered while the establishment of 30 additional accountability courts will also be approved in the light of the orders of the Supreme Court. The Cabinet will ratify the 3rd February decisions of the Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) Committee.
