Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today to discuss their political alliance.
According to details made available from multiple sources, a meeting between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister is likely to take place in Lahore today during which the political situation of the country and the political alliance will be discussed.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of series of protests, staged by workers of Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaaf (PTI) against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for disqualifying their party leader Imran Khan in Toshakhana reference, and following the landslide victory of the PTI Chairman in October 16 by-elections.
A total of 8 cases have so far been registered against dozens of PTI leaders including Imran Khan, 3 under anti- terrorism clauses and some other charges.
In the meeting today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are expected to discuss possible Long March by PTI.
It is pertinent to mention here that in a statement yesterday, former Prime Minister Imran Khan said it did not seem that there will be any result of the backdoor negotiations, citing results of the by-polls in which he won 6 out of 8 NA seats.
Referring to social media trolling of PM Shehbaz Sharif, Imran Khan said what type of negotiations could take place with someone who used to go for meeting while hiding in a car trunk.
He said the country would slip into chaos should the government tried to stop our struggle.
