LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened a special meeting of party leaders today after Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced to quit assemblies last night.
The meeting is expected to take place in Lahore today in which Shehbaz Sharif will hold a detailed discussion with the party leaders regarding the current political situation.
PM Shehbaz Sharif, who returned home last night after completing 2-days official tour of Turkey, is expected to discuss various political options to thwart PTI’s attempt of pressing its demand for snap polls.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in the backdrop of claims by federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah that his party would not allow dissolution of Punjab and KP assemblies.
Sources claimed that PM Shehbaz Sharif was also expected to meet Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman as well.
