ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister has expressed relief over the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust (SKMT) project by calling it the most modern hospital in Pakistan.
The prime minister took to Twitter and wrote that the work on the SKMT Karachi basement proceeding at a good pace after a slowdown during the coronavirus crisis.

According to the prime minister, it will be the biggest SKMT hospital and the most modern in Pakistan. PM Imran Khan, earlier said that the construction work on Karachi’s Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital started in terming it the country’s biggest-ever facility.
The prime minister also said that it would be the biggest cancer hospital in Pakistan as well as is being equipped with the latest machines. The Shaukat Khanum hospital, launched in the 90s in Lahore, provides free cancer treatment and also has a branch in Peshawar.
The prime minister, who has mentioned the hospital in many speeches, had said it has been built “to act as a model institution to alleviate the suffering of patients with cancer”.
