ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor at 1:20 pm today.
The Kartarpur Corridor will be inaugurated two days before the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev beginning on 12th November.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, earlier, waived off the condition of passport and the fee for pilgrims, who are visiting Pakistan, on the day of the inauguration of the corridor and Guru birthday.

For the floors of the shrine, that are wide-spread on approximately 10 acres, imported marble has been used.
According to sources, the shrine will be receiving electricity from Shakar Garh grid station. To ensure proper security, CCTV cameras have also been installed across the shrine.

Apart from this, border terminal building and temporary guest-houses have also constructed to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims.
Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, and Union Ministers Hardeep Puri and Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Congress MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu will also attend the inaugural ceremony.
Kartarpur is a visa-free corridor where Sikh pilgrims can come after getting their passports scanned and bio passport scanned, and biometric confirmation with a nominal payment of service charges of only 20 dollars per head. The pilgrims will come in the morning and will return in the evening.

Foreign Office’s spokesperson Director Dr. Muhammad Faisal and India earlier on 24th October signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries at the Kartarpur Corridor agreement.
In the agreement, Islamabad has kept a service fee of $20 for Sikh pilgrims visiting the Corridor from the Indian side, unchanged. As many as 5,000 Sikh pilgrims can visit Kartarpur daily and Pakistan will consider the possibility of allowing more pilgrims on special occasions.
