ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has been conferred upon the highest civil award of Bahrain during his maiden visit to the Gulf State since assuming office.
The award was granted by King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa at an impressive ceremony in Manama. The prime minister arrived at Sakhir Palace where the Bahraini King received him. The prime minister is participating in the National Day celebrations of Bahrain as guest of honour.
Prime Minister Imran Khan left for home after concluding his visit to Bahrain. Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa saw off the prime minister at the airport.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Bahrain Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on his maiden visit to the Gulf State since assuming office.
Upon arrival, the prime minister was accorded a guard of honour. Discussions were held on Pakistan-Bahrain bilateral issues and the regional situation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bahrain Crown Prince also witnessed signing of MoUs in the fields of higher education and scientific research, sports and medical sciences.
The visit is being hailed of special significance and will impart a strong impetus to both sides’ endeavors to forge a closer and multifaceted bilateral relationship.
According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy close cordial ties based on commonalities of faith and culture and marked by mutual trust and understanding.
The bilateral relationship is broad-based and multifaceted, covering diverse fields including political, trade, commercial, defence, people-to-people contacts, and frequent high-level exchanges.
