SWAT: Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated three tunnels along the 80-kilometer long Swat Expressway on Friday.
According to a statement issued by Prime Minister’s Office, the premier unveiled the plaque marking the inauguration of the tunnels. He later inspected the completed tunnels.PM was accompanied by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed.

DG FWO briefed the PM and told that the 80KM long expressway comprises 7 Interchanges and 3 new tunnels of 1266, 271 and 324 meters length have been built.

The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) director-general briefed the premier about the project. He said the 80-long expressway comprises seven interchanges and three new tunnels of 1,266, 271 and 324 meters in length.
Earlier the day, the prime minister inaugurated the teaching block at Malakand University. On the occasion, he said that there is a need to focus on improving the education sector in the country which is vital for national development.
Addressing the ceremony the Prime Minister said the country needs an education system that acts as means of self-development and a source of bringing positive change in society.
“Nowadays people just care about money. We have forgotten our roots and money is everything for us,” he said, adding, “Money cannot buy happiness and no one can succeed in life by using shortcuts,” he maintained.
The premier further said that apart from technical education, special programs were also being launched in the universities to acquaint the youth with Islamic values and teachings of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W).
“The government is giving special emphasis to industrialization as well as the agriculture and tourism sectors to take forward the country. A new policy is being brought next week about the agriculture sector,” he announced.
The Prime Minister pointed out that PTI assumed power in the most difficult economic situation. “We have returned almost thirty-five thousand billion rupees in loans over the last two and a half years,” he claimed.
