KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee on Friday registered marginal losses against the US dollar, depreciating 0.31% in the interbank.
At close, the currency settled at 277.90, a decrease of Rs0.86, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee registered marginal appreciation against the US dollar, strengthening 0.13% to settle at 277.04 in the interbank market.
In a key development, the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) foreign exchange holdings increased by $393 million as of June 30, according to information released on Thursday, bringing their total to around $4.46 billion.
With around a month’s worth of import cover, the aggregate amount is reaching a critical point.
