KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued new guidelines for travelers intending to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a visit visa.
According to a statement issued today (Thursday), the passengers traveling to UAE must possess UAE currency, a return ticket, and confirmed hotel booking and or local address of stay.
The statement further informed that the passengers traveling to UAE will have to show that they are in possession of at least 2,000 Durhams. “Additionally, a return ticket and a confirmed hotel booking or local stay address is now also a pre-requisite to travel,” it added.
All PIA Passengers are requested to ensure that these prerequisites are available with them and will be inquired upon at airports in Pakistan as well as UAE.
It is worth mentioning here that some Pakistanis were deported who arrived at Dubai airport on a visit visa and did not fulfill the new travel requirements according to the UAE’s immigration laws.
According to a statement by the consulate general, the Pakistanis stranded at the airport do not comply with the new travel requirements to the city. Among the 304 Pakistanis stranded at the airport, 200 arrived on visit visa from Lahore.
