KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has lost billions in the last 10 days, due to the cancellation of 49 more flights.
According to the details, 49 domestic and foreign flights of the national airline have been canceled today. Fuel is being provided only to the specific planes of the national airline. Around 5 flights from Karachi to Islamabad and 2 flights from Karachi to Turbat have been cancelled.
Around 4 flights from Lahore, 2 from Karachi to Quetta, 2 from Karachi to Sukkur were also cancelled. At least 1 from Multan to Karachi, 2 from Islamabad to Multan, 1 from Sharjah to Multan, 2 from Karachi to Dubai, and 2 from Karachi to Jeddah. 1, 2 flights from Faisalabad to Muscat were cancelled.
1 flight from Doha to Lahore, 1 from Dubai to Lahore, 2 from Sialkot to Abu Dhabi, 2 from Sialkot to Dammam, 1 from Dubai to Sialkot were cancelled. 2 flights from Islamabad to Skardu, 4 from Islamabad to Gilgit, 2 from Islamabad to Chitral have been cancelled.
1 flight from Islamabad to Dubai, 1 from Islamabad to Jeddah, 2 flights from Islamabad to Abu Dhabi were also cancelled. 1 flight from Peshawar to Doha, 2 flights from Peshawar to Abu Dhabi, 1 flight from Jeddah to Peshawar have also been canceled due to which passengers are facing difficulties.
Due to the cancellation of 479 flights in the last 10 days, the losses of the national airline have been estimated in billions of rupees. The reason for the cancellation of the flights is the late payment of fuel dues to the PSO which led to all the problems.
