ISLAMABAD: A new technique has emerged to steal sensitive information, the federal government has issued an official advisory instructing officers to be vigilant.
According to the details, the use of new social engineering techniques to steal sensitive information has come to light. All the ministries, provinces, and divisions have been ordered to ensure the security of official documents in the ongoing advisory by the federation.
In the advisory issued by the federal government, it was said that documents should not be shared through Telegram, WhatsApp, or any other mobile app. Cyber attacks are caused by not sending e-mails securely by ignoring the principles of cyber security.

In the advisory issued by the government, it was said that the target of cyber attacks can be the government officials residing in India and abroad, the names and positions of government officials are being recorded in the fake emails. Ensure safe use of the Internet.
The official advisory said that government officials should not use official email on mobile phones and make sure to use separate email IDs for personal and official use. Avoid sharing official and personal data on cloud storage, as per the advisory.
The advisory said that a two-factor authentication system can be adopted to secure email. The advisory noted, “Do not provide personal details in a suspicious internet campaign or give anyone access to government documents.”
