ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday slashed the petrol price by Rs15.39, high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs7.88 per liter in line with the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), according to a notification issued by the finance ministry.
As per notification, the price of petrol has been adjusted toRs 273.1 per liter after a decrease of Rs 15.39. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been lowered by Rs7.88 to Rs 274.8 per liter.
Additionally, the price of light diesel has been reduced by Rs 7.54 per liter, resulting in a new price of Rs 161.17 per liter. Furthermore, the price of kerosene oil has been decreased by Rs 9.86 per liter, now set at Rs 173.48 per liter.
According to the notification, the new prices will be applicable from midnight Wednesday and remain valid for the next fortnight. In a statement, the ministry said that the prices of petroleum products had seen a decreasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight.
On April 30, the price of petrol was slashed by Rs5.45 to Rs288.49 per liter, similarly, high-speed diesel (HSD) price was cut by Rs8.42 to Rs281.96 per liter.
