ISTANBUL: Turkish star Engin Altan Duzyatan, who essayed the lead role in the play ‘Ertugrul’ has expressed that the people of Turkey and Pakistan enjoy well-crafted stories.
During an interview with BBC Asian Network, the Turkish star spoke about how the onscreen portrayal of the historic heroes by the actors has been admired by Pakistanis and audiences around the world.
According to Ertugrul actor, the reason for the show’s popularity in Pakistan is because of the country’s admiration for all stories that are well-crafted. “Turkish series are successful in conveying a touching sense of drama to the audience,” he said.

“When we were filming, we knew from the beginning that it was going to be a memorable series,” Engin Altan Düzyatan, said, “However, even this much attention? Even I did not imagine. We are very grateful,” he added.
He described his character of Ertugrul Ghazi in the play by saying, “I love Ertuğrul Ghazi’s vision, strengths, purpose in life, and all of his values. He is an admirable person and I am really happy that I could portray his life.”
Talking about how the fans are now intrigued to visit Turkey after watching the show, “We know for a fact Turkish popularity increased after the TV series which is great news. We are really glad.”
Since the series with Urdu dubbing aired on the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV), the series has become a huge hit in the country.
