PESHAWAR: Preparations are underway for a rally of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Mardan.
The opposition will launch the second phase of the anti-government movement today. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will lead the rally while PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, senior PPP leader Yousuf Raza Gilani, and other leaders will also address the rally.
According to the plan announced by the opposition alliance, it will pass through different areas of the central city and end at Nowshera Road where a public gathering will be held and PDM leaders will address.

Maryam Nawaz will reach Mardan from Col Sher Khan Interchange, while Yousuf Raza Gilani will lead the procession from Gujjar Garhi and Abdul Ghafoor Haideri from Katlang. The opposition will launch the second phase of the anti-government movement today and will hold the first rally in a series of protests across the country before the long march towards Islamabad.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif and other opposition leaders also attended a meeting organized by the PPP on 27th December on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary.
