LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani has said that there is uncertainty surrounding the Asia Cup 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ehsan Mani said that the decision to proceed with the tournament will most likely be decided with further development of the situation in a month. “Regarding the future of Asia Cup 2020, there has been no decision as of yet but we can expect one in a month’s time while the situation displays,” he said.
Pakistan holds the hosting rights for the showpiece event that will be held this September. As per the Asian Cricket Council (ACC)’s rules, the upcoming Asia Cup 2020 was supposed to be played in the T20 World Cup format in Australia later this year. Across the globe, live sports have been suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.
