KARACHI: Light rain has hit parts of Sindh capital on Wednesday morning after the city remained in the grips of a severe heat spell for several days.
The spell of a heatwave in the city of light has been lifted due to the drizzle in different parts of the Sindh capital that turned the weather pleasant. According to details, clouds covered different parts of Karachi this morning and the drizzle started in Malir District, Model Colony, Gulshan-e-Hadid, and Shah Faisal Colony.
The weather turned pleasant with light rain in different parts of the city as drizzling continues in Landhi, Korangi and Qayyumabad, and other areas. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department said that the weather will be hot and dry in most districts of the country today. The weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours while Sindh, south and central Balochistan, and south Punjab remained hot. However, light rain and drizzle showered in Karachi.
It may be recalled that earlier storms and torrential rains wreaked havoc in different districts of Punjab province, killing 16 people as a result of various accidents including the uprooting of trees, falling off roofs, and lightning.
Earlier eight days ago, the roof of a house collapsed in Okara, killing eight people, including women and children. All those who lost their lives belonged to the same family.
