Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem qualified for the Javelin Throw final with his 86.59-meter throw in his first attempt during the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Tuesday.
An athlete has to throw a minimum of 84 meters to make their place in the final round where they will go against each other for the medal. India’s Neeraj Chopra threw 89.34 meters in the first round and also qualified for the final.
Nadeem, a nine-time international medalist and four-time gold medalist who came fifth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, is Pakistan’s best shot at a medal in the ongoing competition. The Pakistani star athlete won silver at the World Championships last year and gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 with a massive 90.18m distance throw.
Pakistan sent a total of 7 players and six of them have been out of the games. Arshad Nadeem is now Pakistan’s last and biggest hope for a medal in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
