KARACHI: Pakistan’s travel industry has sought a financial relief package as their business has been badly disrupted amid coronavirus outbreak in the country.
In this regard, the Travel Agent Association of Pakistan has penned a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan and urged him to announce a relief package as the travel industry generates 90 percent revenue in the country. The association urged PM Imran to announce tax relief in travel industry.
Convener Travel Agents Association, Ayub Naseem has assured that the association would always support the government and appealed PM Imran to provide relief for the sector. “We are waiting to meet PM Imran in this context,” he added.
Meanwhile, the federal government has decided to extend the suspension of domestic flight operation till April 11 in order to halt the spread of coronavirus.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has said, “The federal government has decided to extend the suspension of all types of domestic scheduled, non-scheduled, chartered, private aircraft and general aviation operations till April 11.”
CAA further said that the domestic flight operations to/ from Islamabad International Airport for Gilgit and Skardu Airports would continue as normal operations.
